Noise level monitoring, insulation report, external barriers
We were recently involved in carrying out a noise impact assessment for a student accommodation block on the Bristol Road in Selly Oak, Birmingham. The development is currently under construction and when complete will provide accommodation for approximately 40 students.
Long term noise monitoring was carried out and an insulation report produced to ensure suitable internal noise levels conducive to study. Amenity areas were also considered and barrier design recommendations made to reduce noise impact from the Bristol Road.
The project involved working closely with the architects and the construction contractor to ensure internal acoustics complied fully with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
